New Haven is right on Interstate 95, very accessible from New York or Boston. There is a local airport, Tweed, but the closest major airports are Bradley International and JFK.
The city is also on the Amtrak and Metro North New Haven Lines; it's quite a nice ride if you're traveling from D.C. or other points on the Eastern seaboard. New Haven's Union Station is right near the downtown area, very close to both Lighthouse Point Park and nearby hotels. We recommend traveling by train, especially if you want to avoid Labor Day traffic!
